Science Fair Project Information

1. Find a project idea.

2. Research your hypothesis (If...then).

3. Research your idea for background information and write a small research paper on it with a bibliography (list the sources from which you got your information - encyclopedias, books, etc.).

4. Figure out how to test it (procedure/experiment) and what materials you'll need.

5. Do the experiment and record data in your logbook.

6. Make a data chart and graph it.

7. Write a conclusion based on your data (was your hypothesis right?).

8. Write an abstract (3-4 paragraphs that explain the problem investigated and the hypothesis, the procedure (experiment), and a summary of the data collected and the conclusions based on the data collected).

9. Make your display board (title, hypothesis, materials list, procedure, data chart, graphs, conclusion, and abstract).  You will also need your logbook and research paper to go with your display board.
