The Essence of Cross Country

No matter what anyone claims, cross country is one of the hardest sports there is.  It's not a sport that one always finds joy in doing; it can be very hard to be motivated to run when it's 98 degrees outside and your body is continually sore from running in past practices.  Yes, cross country takes much discipline.  Cross country is thought of as an individual sport, which makes it tough to be motivated to excel.  It's not so much about beating other runners, it's about beating your own time, and that's something you have to fight for within yourself.  But, it's different for the girls on the Aucilla Christian Academy cross country team.  We find motivation in God and in our teammates and coaches.  We don't like to think of cross country as an individual sport because we rely on each other for motivation and encouragement. Each girl on the team and also the coaches have been put there by God to create meaningful relationships that hold each other accountable whether it be at a meet or in life.  As you can see, the ACA girls cross country team centers ourselves with God as our cornerstone in life and in running because only with Him can we achieve beyond our own limitations.
