Hurricane Ian

Dear Friends,

I wanted to provide you with an update in regard to the impact that Hurricane Ian may have on our school.  We are in regular communication with both local and state officials in order to make the very best decisions possible for our school community.  As you know, student safety is of the utmost importance to us.  We also understand that the various communities we serve can be impacted in much different ways from any storm system and try to be mindful of our entire school community as we make decisions.  At this time, we plan to be in school as normal on Wednesday.  We plan to communicate decisions in regard to the rest of the week, including the middle and high school dance, on Wednesday.  Due to the uncertainty in the forecast, our Friday night football game has been moved to Franklin County tonight.  Therefore, we will reschedule all Friday Homecoming activities to Friday, October 14.  That includes the parade, the pep rally, the game festivities, and the alumni tailgate.  We wanted to communicate this information to you as soon as we could so that you could plan accordingly.  We will continue to keep you updated in regard to any decisions that are made for the remainder of the week as soon as we are able.  Please remember that all decisions will be communicated to you via email directly from the school and will be posted on our Facebook page.  Thanks for your patience as we strive to make the very best decisions.  Let’s all pray for those in the direct path of this significant storm.  We will keep you posted.

Richard
