Aucilla Christian Academy welcomes three new faculty and staff members and makes one appointment.
Joseph McClendon is teaching trigonometry/pre-calculus, algebra II, and advanced topics in math. McClendon recently earned his B.S. with a double major in mathematics and secondary mathematics education at Florida State University and interned at Wakulla High School. Phil Barker is teaching physical education. Barker has an M.A. in educational leadership from Florida State University and a B.S. in physical education from St. Leo University. He was previously a teacher, coach and assistant principal at ACA before becoming the superintendent of schools in Jefferson County and an ACA board member. Don Stowers, a graduate of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with a B.S. in agriculture economics, is now on ACA’s maintenance and transportation staff after retiring from a Knoxville company. Additionally, Colby Roberts, an ACA alumnus, long-time secondary teacher at ACA and varsity head football coach with a B.S. in social science education from Florida State University, was promoted to Dean of Students.
“We are blessed to have these Godly men leading ACA in so many areas,” said Principal Richard Finlayson. “They will greatly enhance our ministry, and we look forward to serving with them this school year.”
