Schwab Receives Burlsworth Character Award

Published:  December 14, 2015
Trevor Schwab, a senior at Aucilla Christian Academy, is ACA's Brandon Burlsworth Character Award recipient after being nominated by Coach Colby Roberts for the new national award that recognizes one football player from each high school who demonstrates outstanding character and sportsmanship.
Schwab will receive a certificate and copy of "Through the Eyes of a Champion," a biography about Burlsworth, known as possibly the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. His name, Coach Roberts' name and ACA will also be listed in the upcoming new biographical "Greater" movie credits, as well as on the award website.
“When I received the criteria to nominate a player, Trevor Schwab was one of the first people to come to mind," said Roberts. "Trevor is a hard worker who played on the offensive and defensive lines for us this season. At 170 lbs. he was at times outweighed by opponents 100 lbs. heavier, but he never quit trying his best or complained. Due to several injuries he was moved to tight end/receiver, a position he had never played before. He worked hard and produced for the team when it was in great need. He is a respectful young man who has volunteered time with our youth football camp and will represent the award and what it stands for well."
Schwab is the son of Chad and Dana Schwab of Perry. For more information on ACA, the award and movie, visit and
